Yoga Legends is a short educational film for children about mindfulness and its benefits in managing everyday stress. It blends live puppetry and animation to create an experience that feels playful and real. Bright, friendly colours welcome young viewers and maintain a warm tone. The spirit echoes “Sesame Street,” equal parts inviting and instructive.
The hardest part of making Yoga Legends was the green screen work. We filmed live puppeteers in full green suits, allowing the characters to move with real energy.
In post, that choice meant precise compositing. Every frame required careful keying, edge cleanup, and colour matching so that the puppeteers disappeared and the puppets blended naturally with the animated elements and live actors.
The goal of Yoga Legends was simple: make mindfulness feel fun, friendly, and useful in everyday life. We paired clear teaching with playful storytelling and bright, crafted visuals to spark curiosity and keep kids engaged.
The aim was to capture their imagination and give them practical tools they can use at home, at school, and in those moments when big feelings show up.
The look of Yoga Legends began in Adobe Illustrator. I drew and built vector assets, then rigged and animated them in After Effects. Buildings, vehicles, and expansive landscapes create a bright playground for the story. Colour does real work here. We chose a warm, friendly palette inspired by classics like “Sesame Street” and “LazyTown.”
We filmed puppets and live actors on green screen, then composited them into the animated world in After Effects and DaVinci Resolve. It was an ambitious mix that required clean keys, careful lighting and shadow, and timing that matched the performances. The result serves the goal of creating a playful world that is both clear and inviting to young viewers.
